I am pleased to advise that MiniColours has a new guardian!
Over the next few months I will be setting out a plan for future
modifications and improvements and I am more than happy to accept suggestions
on things that visitors would like to see on the site.
One thing I would like to see is some form of swatch area using original colour
swatches. If anyone has any car colour swatches they want to sell or loan to
me, I would be very grateful.
There is now an up and coming BMW Mini site for colours and I will publish
a link to that in due course.
If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact me at
contact@minicolours.co.uk
Many thanks,
Matt Harrington
We've seen a lot of posts in forums saying that information on this
site is wrong. If you think there's anything inaccurate, please mail us and let
us know - we're not perfect! It helps if you can back up your information with
details, but even if you only think something's wrong, do get in touch.
Welcome!
To get started quickly, simply pick a colour family from the list on the
left, or if you have the name of a colour, you might want to use the search box
at the bottom of the page. Note that 'All on one page' lists some 181 colours,
and may take some time!
Before contacting us, please consult the frequently asked

Back! Posted 1-March-2005 by Stu
The last 16 months have been a little tumultuous, involving moving job,
house, servers and so on. Because of this, I've had absolutely no time to
update the site.
Note, however, that all you emails are safe and I'll start processing them
soon.
Photo Copyright Posted 18-November-2003 by Stu
It seems some people are confused about the copyright of photos on this
site. The copyright of a photo rests with the original supplier. We take
images in good faith, and alter them only in ways laid out in the FAQ. The
copyright of the altered image still rests with the supplier.
A problem has arisen where a car has been sold, and the new owner is
complaining about a photo of his car taken by the previous owner. There are
no features to identify that it is that particular car (numberplates removed
etc.) and the photo was taken and submitted by the original owner.
We will consider polite requests from new owners of cars which can be
easily identified - but bear in mind, this is a site for the mini community
and it would be disappointing to remove photos, when we've worked so hard to
find them.
We also do not appreciate this matter being raised in a public forum, with
unfounded threats of legal action before even contacting us and waiting for a
reply.
Mini Magazine Posted 30-October-2003 by Stu
We have appeared in this month's Mini Magazine which appears to have
arrived with subscribers yesterday. Because of this the volume of mail in our
inbox is starting to build. Please be patient waiting for replies!
Also note that the 'index.cgi' part of the address isn't necessary if
you're linking the site or telling others. See the bottom of this page for details on
linking the site.
Thanks Mini Magazine and all contributors and visitors.
Similar Colours Posted 16-September-2003 by Stu
New section on similar colours added. Let us
know if you think other colour combinations should appear in here.
Downtime Posted 14-September-2003 by Stu
Apologies for downtime today. Believe it or not, the room the wires to the
webserver go through was being painted, so the connection was down for part
of the day. The room looks very nice now.
Site Update Posted 03-September-2003 by Stu
You have probably noticed the cosmetic changes to the site. There have
been many more changes besides. Notably:
Colours have been
separated into their 'official' colour families. Unfortunately, this
means that Morello Purple appears under 'Red' and other annomolies.
We're looking into a solution to this.
There is now a text
search (at the bottom of each page). Search for colour name, code, photo
credit... any text attached to each image is searched.
Paints which are
essentially the same colour were classified together in the old site.
The new site separates them into new and old versions (see Damask Red,
or Yukon Grey for examples). We're working on a way to link these.
Approximate dates
used now appear along with the colours.
Colours which have
only been used as a roof paint are now in the list (Mini Sky, Mini Rose
etc.)
Colour codes as
printed on VIN plates are now included with each paint code.
If you spot any problems, do let us know.
